THE STORY

Caroil contracted Alistair Logistics to move its onshore oil Rig 6 from a location outside of Mtwara, Tanzania 75 kms south to Mnazi Bay, Tanzania. The move was completed over a 15-day period under the supervision of Caroil’s engineers, Alistair Logistics’ supervisors and the careful work of the drivers and operators. The team placed two cranes and a forklift at each site. The fleet of 12 tractors with a combination of lowloader and flatbed trailers ensured that all 107 trucks loads were moved efficiently. Alistair Logistics supervisors guaranteed that everything was loaded safely, escorted correctly and unloaded without problems. After 15 days, the entire rig, plant and associated loads had been safely reinstalled in Mnazi Bay with zero accidents, incidents or near misses.
